Owner and President of Piñon Deer, Chuck Johnson, has been
working with computers and related technology since the age of 13. As a Native
American growing up near Espanola and also on the Oke-Owingeh Pueblo (San
Juan Pueblo), he was on the leading edge of technology long before it became
available mainstream as it is today. At the age of 24, he was already the owner
of the popular and successful CJ Enterprises, Inc.,
that was responsible for selling computers and equipment to Los Alamos National
Laboratory.
Piñon Deer Industries, a Native American owned and operated
company, was founded in 1997 and is a registered vendor with the State of New
Mexico. The company name was derived from the owner Chuck Johnson’s Tewa name
Paa T'oe which means Piñon Deer.
